Let's make Whitlam Independent in 2025.
It's Time for Common Sense!
G'day, my name is Paddy Moylan. I am your independent candidate in Whitlam for the 2025 election.
I live in the electorate and have done so for approaching 20 years. My wife and I are raising our young family in Whitlam.
Whitlam comprises the best parts of Australia: stunning beaches, farmland, young families, businesses wanting to thrive, and more.
However, we lack infrastructure development. We need more appropriate housing types, better mobile phone coverage, a focus on the cost of living, and a proper focus on renewables and alternate energy sources without destroying the environment with turbines over our oceans. Above all, we need to make decisions based on COMMON SENSE!
I look forward to catching up with you and listening to what is important to you, your family, your business and your community group.
Cheers, Paddy.
I need your help to achieve change. Labor has taken us for granted for too long. The major parties are not the answer.

I have identified several areas that need attention for our community. As I continue to talk and listen, more policy areas will gain attention and focus. I do not have all the answers, but I certainly will advocate for issues the community needs help with.
I want to be very clear upfront. In the event of a hung parliament, the only deal I will make is what is best for Whitlam. At this election, a vote for me as your Independent will put Whitlam on the map, and by voting for Paddy Moylan, Independent, we can achieve excellent outcomes for Whitlam.
My focus areas include:
People, families and businesses are struggling at the moment. That has to change.
I have no fixed view as to how energy is delivered, but it must be delivered without interruption, and it must be delivered cost-effectively. How did we get to a stage where the Government can tell us to use less power when it's hot or cold? That is not the Australian way! Cheap power was the way of life, it no longer is. We must transition to renewables, but we must not hurt the current generations because of climate targets. Like the community, I am sick and tired of some sections of the energy and climate debate pushing their own interests.
What I am very clear on is that we do not need wind turbines off our coast, that does not make sense at all in Whitlam.
The reality is we need a balance of coal, gas and renewables. Government control is not working. Private enterprise has in recent times made huge advances in battery storage. The developments that will occur over the next 20 years by private enterprise will see technology and advancements, that we cannot even imagine now. Accordingly, we must use coal and our gas to make energy cheap again whilst we transition to an emissions-free world that we all want. It's about common sense decisions.
We need a greater diversity of housing in Whitlam. We are an area that young families and retirees are moving to, for obvious reasons! However, we must improve our housing supply to accommodate everyone safely and happily. That means alternate styles of housing, and it also means a strong focus on low-cost housing. We have a crisis of accommodation for our vulnerable. That has to be fixed. We have some wonderful organisations in Whitlam doing work in the affordable housing and urgent short term housing space, I will support them to deliver.
The Family Law system is broken. A system that has lost sight of its purpose is ruining families and individuals. Families should not be caught up in battles in Court for years. The system must be overhauled to protect the vulnerable and deliver quick and efficient outcomes to the Court's clients. ie, normal Mum's and Dad's and the children.
Phone and internet coverage in Whitlam is appalling. I will push for improvements to coverage so we can all stay connected with our family and friends. Poor mobile phone coverage is a barrier to business success.
I will support UOW's growth and expansion, including the Moss Vale Campus. Improving access to education locally will allow the next generation to stay local after school. Our youth completing local University degrees and skills and apprenticeship training locally is vital for creating jobs and growth in Whitlam.
I will advocate for policies that improve access to healthcare. Healthcare should be available when needed. We must maintain healthcare for everyone. Preventative care saves millions of dollars.
At some point all of us or someone we know will engage with Centrelink. When that engagement happens it is generally at a very tough time in life. The solutions from Centrelink must be delivered quickly, efficiently and with an outcomes focus. Of course, applications must be assessed very seriously as we can only fund our vulnerable but I am very concerned at Centrelink delays and this is a focus for Whitlam.
The local Councils in Whitlam are well-connected to their community. I hear loud and clear what Local Council considers essential, and I will have more to say throughout the campaign.
Tell me what is important for you, your family, your business or your community group. there are so many other issues in Whitlam that I will address. I look forward to having a chat to hear how I can help you.
